“There are lots of homes behind this street cat but none belong to him”
Being a big cat lover I often worry about the feral and stray cats I may encounter while away on holiday. I worry about them before I’ve even met them! I know there are feral and stray cats in the UK but often due to the lack of neutering, education and funds, places abroad can be so much worse for the unowned felines. Being a cat sitter I often ask people where they went on holiday and were there many stray and feral cats. Many people tell me they never saw any, but I expect the cats were there, maybe only venturing out at night or dusk…… the Unseen of the feline world.
So when I heard that International Cat Care was having a photographic competition about Street Cats I was excited. The winners of the competition will go into a calendar to raise money for the charity. International Cat Care does an amazing job supporting communities with trap, neuter, return programs in many countries. Most of these street cats want to live on the streets and can never live with humans, but with TNR these cats can be neutered so they live a healthier and happier life without the stress of reproduction.
