Total Cat Mojo is a great read all about understanding your cat better to improve their wellbeing both physically and emotionally. Jackson Galaxy and Mikel Delgado are both cat behaviourists in America and really know a lot about our feline friends. As most people seem to keep their cats indoors in the States, there may be some opinions about keeping cats indoors you may not agree with but if your cat is an indoor cat you will find it useful.
Two things that stood out for me in this book are how important play is to cats and also how important vertical space is to them. This goes for cats that are indoor/outdoor and indoor. This book tells us about the play sequence called HCKEGS.

The first 3 involves us playing with our cats, this would need a fishing rod type toy, then ending with a meal for the cats. The grooming and sleep the cats can do for themselves unless you have a cat who loves being brushed, unfortunately Mr Ringo has never been keen…..
When I talk about vertical space I mean the cat’s environment being enriched by tall cat trees, shelves and areas up high that the cat can get to, to observe their world and also get away from stresses of home life. This book also covers many common cat behavioural issues in a very down to earth way and is very helpful. But of course as all good cat owners know, seeing your vet is always the first place for advice in case of any medical issues.
I really enjoyed this book and found it to be very readable. It made me smile, feel sad and is full of tips to make you and your cat discover their confidence or cat mojo. The cartoons are wonderful too. It would make a great gift for any cat lover and their cat.
